Kino Disk

Visual identity and center illustrations for Kino Disk, a dubplate studio and electronic label based in Chicago, IL.

Drawing from the tradition of white label vinyls in dub sound-system culture, the identity for Kino Disk is marked by restraint and abstraction. Textural illustrations evoke an esoteric quality, akin to a newly discovered yet long-lost artifact. Across releases, the design echoes the rarity of each limited pressing and the atmospheric quality that defines the label’s sound.

Sales Studio

Digital flyer design, physical takeaway, web assistance for Josephine Sales’s Total Running Time, shown at The Beall Center for Art and Technology at UC Irvine.

Developed in close collaboration with artist Josephine Sales, the visual identity for Total Running Time accompanied the exhibition at UC Irvine’s Beall Center for Art and Technology. The printed flyer and takeaway articulated key elements of the gallery experience, offering points of entry for both visitors and those unable to attend in-person. The project reflects a cooperative design process that connects artistic intent, technical development, and institutional considerations. The resulting work was evidenced in materials that extend the exhibition’s themes while still functioning as independent works.

Early Rotation

Visual identity and logo design for Early Rotation, an online record store focused on electronic music for DJs.

Early Rotation taps into the ephemera that once traveled with white-label DJ promos in the ’90s and early 2000s: photocopied slips, halftone fragments, documents worn by repetition. Halftone patterns and xerox grit shape the system, giving the scheme a sharpened, lived-in quality. The result is an identity that feels both archival and immediate, rooted in the textures and  aesthetic lineage of the scene it serves.
